This page details how to join our reenacting unit.
The only requirements to join our unit are:
You must be 16 years old.
You cannot be a felon.
You must show genuine interest in preserving history, and
You must show genuine interest in helping the WWIIHC and in joining our unit.
If you want to join the unit, we need to know! Even if you are interested and just want more information on reenacting or what we do, let us know that too. You can contact the unit commander, Leutnant Erik Runge, at wwiirc@wwiihistorycenter.org.
Training events are a risk-free way for you to find out if you want to invest in this hobby. You don’t need anything to come to one of our training events and there will be loaner uniforms, gear and weapons available for you to borrow. If the training event has kept you interested in reenacting, then think about coming to a public battle or a tactical. You will probably be able to borrow the necessary gear to come to one of these events, and this will let you know what the hobby is really about.
So, you really are interested, then, huh? Well, the next step is to let Leutnant Runge know what you want to join. They’ll get you added to the unit dossier, and you’ll officially be apart of the 352.Infanterie-Division as a Rekrut (recruit). Fill out and return the Reenactor Membership Agreement. Start studying the Rekrut Handbuch. The unit commander keeps track of everyone’s attendance and performance in the unit dossier – this is used to determine promotions and leadership positions.
The next step is to start buying your uniforms and equipment. Our uniform and gear requirements are found on our Required Gear Webpage. Once you obtain your Basic Impression, you will be promoted to the rank of Grenadier (private) and will be a full member of our unit.
