How to Join

This page details how to join our reenacting  unit.

What are the requirements?

The only requirements to join our unit are:

If you meet these requirements, then here’s what you need to do:

Contact us!

If you want to join the unit, we need to know!  Even if you are interested and just want more information on reenacting or what we do, let us know that too.  You can contact the unit commander, Leutnant Erik Runge, at wwiirc@wwiihistorycenter.org.

Come to an event!

Training events are a risk-free way for you to find out if you want to invest in this hobby.  You don’t need anything to come to one of our training events and there will be loaner uniforms, gear and weapons available for you to borrow.  If the training event has kept you interested in reenacting, then think about coming to a public battle or a tactical.  You will probably be able to borrow the necessary gear to come to one of these events, and this will let you know what the hobby is really about.

Join the unit!

So, you really are interested, then, huh?  Well, the next step is to let Leutnant Runge know what you want to join.  They’ll get you added to the unit dossier, and you’ll officially be apart of the 352.Infanterie-Division as a Rekrut (recruit).  Fill out and return the Reenactor Membership AgreementStart studying the Rekrut HandbuchThe unit commander keeps track of everyone’s attendance and performance in the unit dossier – this is used to determine promotions and leadership positions.

Start buying your stuff!

The next step is to start buying your uniforms and equipment.  Our uniform and gear requirements are found on our Required Gear Webpage.  Once you obtain your Basic Impression, you will be promoted to the rank of Grenadier (private) and will be a full member of our unit.
